Introduction: Characterized by hot-dry summers and mild and rainy winters.


Definition: Vegetation consisting chiefly of tangled shrubs and thorny bushes.

Biotic Factors (animals, plants, algae, etc. living things): Plants= shrublands, scrublands, corn oak.
Animals= In California there are large cat species as well as coyotes, rabbits, squirrels, hawks, and eagles




Abiotic Factors (rain, wind, temperature, location, soil quality, seasons): Varies greatly, during the summer it is very dry and y desert-like and temperatures can reach up to 100 degrees and during the winter temperatures can drop below freezing. Most precipitation happens during the fall and early spring. Precipitation slows after February and completely stops in May
